Nothing to do with my books or anything, I just thought I’d share some pics I took of Scotland’s most photogenic castle, Eilan Donan. They were taken at least 12 years ago (2006 I believe), so the resolution will be lower than modern ones, but they’re still pretty good.
I’ve always loved history, as you know – I even worked in Dumbarton Castle as a steward for a time – but Eilan Donan is the Scottish castle people like the best when it comes to pictures. It’s just so atmospheric and, frankly, stunning! It was great to visit, and even the drive there, passing the “Five Sisters of Kintail”, which are referenced in the Jethro Tull song “Ears of Tin”* was an adventure for me.
Everyone seems to love this place, and these pics were just lying around on my hard drive so…after 12+ years- Enjoy!

My agent is still trying to sell my newest book The Druid to a publisher so I’m afraid I don’t have any news on that yet. As for my Roman slave novel, it’s coming along very nicely – 2/3 written in just four or five months, so hopefully I’ll have two books complete and ready to go this year whether a publisher wants them or not. It never stopped me before, and I’m 100% sure my writing now is better than ever so if I need to self-publish again, no probs.
Keep an eye out for news on those projects here or on my Facebook page, or by signing up to my email list at the end of this post!
*The Jethro Tull song mentioned earlier isn’t one of their best, but this is much more fitting and the video (not mine) includes some cool images of Scottish scenery including Eilan Donan, check it out:
